Monday, November 18 th

 

Circle Time: Calendar, Weather, and Star of the Week

Letter:  Introduction to the letter Jj.  Sing our Letter Jj alphabet poster poem and flip chart and begin making our letter Jj word list.  

Bible:  God has been really good to us in so many ways!!  How many of you have a family?  How many of you have a home?  How many of you have food to eat? Those are all things that we need, and are good things that God has allowed us to have. Sing “God has been good” from our Bible curriculum cd.  Let’s thank God for being so good to us.  

Theme: This week we are learning all about Native Americans and Pilgrims.  Who are the Native Americans and the Pilgrims?  Why are they important?  Read, This First Thanksgiving Day by Laura Krauss Melmed.  Talk about how life was different then for the Native Americans and Pilgrims.

Math:   Cornucopia addition

Science:   How does a garden grow?  Learn about the different things that were grown and harvested at the very first thanksgiving.

Art/Fine Motor: Turkey Headbands

Language/Literacy:   The Thanksgiving Story by Alice Dalgliesh

Large Motor:   Dancing and Singing to our Thanksgiving songs

Extra Activities:   Practice Thanksgiving Feast Songs

 

 

Tuesday, November 19 th

 

Circle Time: Calendar, Weather, and Star of the Week

Letter:  Read, My J Book and find new words to add to our letter J word list.

Bible: Review our Bible theme and talk about what we can thank God for.  Read a story of how Jesus gave thanks to God for some food and what special thing happened!!

Theme:  Read, The Very First Thanksgiving Day by Rhonda Gowler Greene.  Sing Thanksgiving songs.

Math:   turkey feather counting

Science:   sea animal exploration

Art/Fine Motor:   J is for jelly fish

 

Language/Literacy:    Read, The First Thanksgiving by Jean Craighead George.

Large Motor:   Balance Beam  

Extra Activities:   Thanksgiving Feast Songs

 

 

Wednesday, November 20 th

 

Circle Time: Calendar, Weather, and Star of the Week

Letter:  Have show and tell for the letter Jj for those who will not be here on Thursday.  

Bible and Theme: Read, Thankful Together and pray to God for all the things we are thankful for.  

Math: Jelly Bean graphing and Color sorting

Science: color paddles - color mixing

Art/Fine Motor :  I Can pray to God and thank Him for his goodness!  Thank you God for… (prayer hands)
